PENUMBRA:
BLACK PLAGUE With a development team comprising of only two full-time members, Frictional Games took on the might of developers and publishers with multi-million pound budgets and delivered the most terrifying game of 2008 in Penumbra: Black Plague. With a brief of delivering a tight effective Specialist Gaming campaign, the PR succeeded in achieving both quality in terms of positivity, as well as a high volume of editorial coverage. PC Format described it as “…a creepy, well-written and refreshingly different first-person romp” on the way to scoring it 80%, Total PC Gaming gave it 8/10 and said it was “…the survival horror adventure equivalent of Portal”, and Total Videogames summed it up best in their 8/10 review as “…a game that’s far more terrifying than the Resident Evil’s and F.E.A.R.’s of this world. |
